Family favourite Sunday lunch.

Mum’s Honey Sauce 2014

There are 2 versions of this recipe. It was always served with baked chicken and vegetables for Sunday lunch.

#1 the one mum told me back in the 1990s when I first got married

  • 3 salt reduced chicken stock cubes massells
  • 1tb Honey
  • 1/2tsp kikkoman soy sauce
  • 1/4cup tomato sauce
  • 2tsp cornflour
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/4 cup pineapple juice

Method

  1. Mix together in pyrex jug.
  2. Microwave on high for 3min on high. Stir until it thickens
  3. Microwave for another minute.

Version #2 by my Niece:

  • 1 cube chicken stock
  • 125ml tomato sauce
  • 125ml honey
  • 2ts soy sauce
  • 2tsp cornflour
  • Water to desired consistency

Method

  1. In pyrex jug microwave for 2 minutes on high.
  2. Stir and add water if needed
  3. Microwave 1 minute more
