This is a old 1980’s recipe I adapted from AWW (Australian Women’s Weekly) recipe collection.  This is one of the good old basic classic recipes that makes a delicious meal.

Serves 1 (*no chili) shown

Recipe serves 4

  • 250g grassfed minced beef
  • 1tb evoo
  • 1/2 medium onion sliced
  • 1tsp minced garlic
  • 1/2cup organic tomato
  • 1tsp cumin
  • 1tsp smoked paprika
  • 1ts oregano
  • 1 salt reduced tomato paste sachet (2tb)
  • 1tsp salt reduced beef stock powder
  • 3/4cup water
  • 1tb chinese red cooking wine (*use red wine if you have it)
  • 1 bayleaf
  • 1/2cup drained red kidney beans
  • Option: 1tb mexican dried chili powder

Method

  1. Peel and Slice then onion.
  2. Brown meat with evoo and add onion
  3. Add remaining ingredients
  4. Cook for about 15 minutes until everything mixes together.
  5. Can be served with fresh coriander or rice
